Emirates wins three Passenger Choice Awards at APEX Asia

 Emirates received three Regional Passenger Choice Awards for  Best Entertainment in the Middle East,   Best Inflight Wi-Fi in the Middle East, and the Best Overall Experience in the Middle East  at the 2018 APEX Passenger Choice Awards ceremony held during APEX Asia in Shanghai, China. These are the most recent accolades awarded to Emirates, in addition to the  Five-Star Global Airline Official Airline Rating™  and  the Global Passenger Choice Award for Best Entertainment  awarded at APEX EXPO in September 2017. Based solely on verified and certified passenger feedback, the Five-Star rating is the highest in the programme. General Dynamics Board Increases Dividend

The board of directors of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) today declared a regular quarterly dividend of 93 cents per share on the company’s common stock, payable May 11, 2018, to shareholders of record on April 13. This is the 21st consecutive annual dividend increase authorized by the General Dynamics board. The 10.7 percent increase is consistent with increases over the past five years.   Headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia, General Dynamics is a global aerospace and defense company that offers a broad portfolio of products and services in business aviation; combat vehicles, weapons systems and munitions; C4ISR and IT solutions; and shipbuilding. The company’s 2017 revenue was $31 billion.

Boeing Recognized by GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ for 10,000th 737

The 737 previously held this  GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS  title in 2006 for the 5,000 th  airplane to come out of the  Renton  factory, a mark that took almost four decades to reach. Due to growing market demand and higher production rates, the 737 program reached the 10,000 th  airplane milestone only 12 years later. "The speed at which Boeing achieved this new milestone is very impressive," said  Michael Empric , official adjudicator for  GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS . "We are excited to once again recognize the 737 and the important role it plays in commercial aviation."  Boeing will increase 737 production from the current rate of 47 airplanes per month to 52 airplanes per month later this year. The 737 program has more than 4,600 airplanes still on order fueled by sales of the newest version of the 737, the 737 MAX.

Lockheed Martin Completes Acceptance Test of First TPS-77 MRR

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) recently completed a successful site acceptance test of a TPS-77 Multi-Role Radar (TPS-77 MRR) marking an on-time delivery of the first of three radars to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of   Latvia , and a major step forward in strengthening   Latvia's   national defense. The TPS-77 MRR plays a vital role in improving the Latvian Air Force's airspace defense by increasing its low-level flight surveillance and identification capabilities, leading to enhanced early warning and situation awareness that allows its armed forces to make more informed and efficient decisions in response to modern day threats.   This milestone is the most recent event in a 16-year partnership of radar development and training between  Latvia  and Lockheed Martin, including the 2015 contract for three TPS-77 MRRs.
